2012 FORMAT

 

ENTRY FEE:
$30.00 per Round (Race)
$15.00 per additional class
$15.00 Father/Son (with paid adult – 18 year old limit)

Online Registration is encouraged. However all entry fees must be paid at track. Trackside registration will close 30 minutes prior to Drivers meeting. Call in or late entries must call 770-355-9684 before trackside registration closes. NO EXCEPTIONS!

All racers practicing on Friday are required to be completely registered and paid prior to them starting their practice. Drivers will receive a wristband once they are completely registered and paid signifying that they are eligible to begin practicing. NO EXECPTIONS!

Race start time:
7:30am – 8:30am – Practice
8:30am – Drivers meeting.
9:00am – Racing starts
Open Practice on Friday (time to be announced)(weather permitting)

1/8 Pro Buggy
1/8 Arena Truck
1/8 Intermediate Buggy
1/8 Electric Buggy
2WD SCT (17.5 w/boost ROAR)
4WD SCT (Open)
1/10 Buggy (13.5 w/boost ROAR)

Class Rules:
Intermediate Class - 

1. If Placed in the top 3 of any previous GCS Final Points, racer  must move up to Pro Class
2. Must not have a Chassis sponsor or Engine sponsor by manufacturer or distributor (regardless of percentage).
3. Must not have raced as Pro or Open in any other major regional race event. IE. ROAR, Pro Series, PNB, AMS, Wiregrass, CWC etc…(regardless of finish results)
4. Assessment of race times. If Qual times are comparable to top Pro times. Racer may be bumped to Pro Class
5. Open

Round Race Format:
4 Rounds (races) + Finals 5 total Races
1 Round throw out

Each Round (race) will be single day event. All rounds will be on Saturday. Rain Out on Sunday. 

If Qualifying exceeds 15 races per round qualifying will be reduced to 2 rounds (no voting). Also a reduction of Nitro A Main times from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.  All changes are at the discretion of the race directors.

No changes will be made to format at the 2 day finals.

 

Rain Out:
If weather/track conditions do not allow racing to begin, rescheduling of that Round will occur.
If race day begins and a least 2 complete Qualifying “rounds” have been ran, results of that Round will be determined “based off” of Qualifying position.

Points:
Sliding scale starting at 200 and going down by 5 for each place under first. Points at Finals will be slide down from 150.
5 point bonus for TQ
30 point bonus for running all 5 races.
Final Race – Point and half
Tie Breakers – Will be decided by finishing place at Finals.
Georgia State Series Champion will be crowned. No Cash Payout.

1/8 Nitro Arena Truck/Truggy:

Minimum track width: Continuous 10 feet (same as 8th scales)
Wheel base: Minimum 12 inches
Wheelbase: Maximum 16 inches
Vehicle width maximum: outside tire to outside tire – 18 inches
Transmission/diff: Single speed direct drive (1/8 buggy) style driveline only.
Engine: .12ci to .28ci
Carb: No size restriction. Carb must mount securely to the motor.
Exhaust: Pipes must meet the 85 db limit and have no movable parts in them.
Minimum weight: 4000 Grams
Maximum weight: 13lbs 6oz. 13
Fuel Tanks: Single fuel tanks only no more than 150mililitres/cc. This includes fuel line from tank to carb and filter(s).
Bodies: Truck or SUV (no buggy or car bodies allowed )
Bumpers: Bumpers are optional. If used, must not extend further than 1" past the body on the front and rear.
Rear Spoiler/Wing: optional.
Skid Plates: Skid Plates must not extend further than 1" past the body on the front and rear.
Wheels: Must be manufactured for Arena Trucks.
Wheel Mounting: Wheel mounting – Must be securely mounted at all times.
Tires: Must be rubber only. No tires created for other vehicle types even if they fit the specifications will be allowed. Cutting or modifying the tread is allowed. Modifying the tire carcass by sectioning or narrowing is prohibited. All tire measurements reference the carcass dimensions and does not include the tread depth or width.

Batteries – 4S, 5S or 6S lipo. No MAH limit. Batteries must be in good physical shape no cut, damaged or swollen pack allowed. Hard cases not required. Batteries must be secured properly in the vehicle, strapped or clamped into place before the event begins.
Charging – Batteries MUST be charged in a charging sack specifically designed and marketed for the purpose of charging lipos or charged in the vehicle.LiFePO4 packs are legal based on the 3.3v per cell technology. Voltage per cell must not exceed the common voltage per cell of an equal LiPo cell. This allows that technology for these cells may increase voltage at some point.

Tire Mounted: Minimum Diameter of the tire (mounted) is established to limit extremely low profile designs. The target dimension (new tire) is established at 4.30 inches. To compensate for wear, molding tolerances, degradation of foam inserts, the pre- race minimum allowable diameter of a mounted tire is 4.20 inches.
No ribbed front tires are permitted.

We are not affiliated with RC Pro Series or ROAR in anyway.  However we will be using the General Rules, Racing and Participating Conditions, Track Rules and Regulations and Equipment Rules and Regulations. 

Any issues not addressed in these rules may be discussed with the race directors.  All decisions by the race directors are final
