Sometimes while we are in the trenchs of R/C racing we can sometimes forget how much work it takes to make a R/C track facility work. We all have complained and disagreed with the track owner/director at one time or another over jumps,water,length of racers etc… But when it comes down to it..these tracks have done more work than most of us realize. All the tracks in the GCS have given an extroidnary effort to promote our hobby outside of holding a GCS event.

Georgia Championship Series supporting track holds 2009 RC Pro Rd 3 East Division. Along with supporting the GCS, SCORE promotes our hobby by holding a race for world recognized R/C Pro Series.  Results for this race can be found at SCORE RESULTS

Phil Hurd Raceway the Legendary R/C club led my Jason Brown have raised the bar in the Georgia R/C world. The club continues to grow through out the year. Web designer and Treasurer Mike Holt keeps the Phil Hurd Raceway Website up to date with the latest news relating to SCORE. The future looks bright for this club.

SCORE continues to grow and prosper in 2009.  Club President Jason Brown and the dedicated crew spent over $2000.00 and many hours preparing for the GCS’s revisit.  The track had a new design which included some new jumps, hard pipes, and the 1^st signs of elevation changes that will be more prominent in the future.   Perfect for some GCS Rd 9 and the R/C Pro Series East Division which SCORE will be hosting in two weeks.

 Pro Buggy – “Hard-Hitters” from across the region were in attendance for the race. Losi’s Travis Dupree TQ’s and runs away from the field early and never looks back.  Associated driver Brandon Melton battles with Kyosho’s Travis Phillips for the 2^nd  position.  Phillips taking 3^rd and Melton taking 2^nd  at  the end.  Kevin Bullock takes his Xray to a respectable 4^th place finish.  Int. Buggy – What a race!  Hometown kid Mitchell Burkey  battles with motocross legend Larry “Big Bird” Ward.  Burkey taking 1^st  showing the motocross legend how it’s done with R/C cars. Ward taking second but not with out constant pressure on Burkey the entire race.  Matt Allen finishing 3^rd and Charles Yates 4^th. SLASH – Joel “Stickman” Judkins takes his Stickman power SLASH into victory lane after an intense battle with Eric Madden, Chat Howard and Travis Melton. Finishing order Judkins 1^st Madden 2^nd Howard 3rd and Melton 4^th.
